FARSI 2nd Iranian Cardiovascualr Joint Congress

In The Name of God

Dear Guests and Colleagues

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our pleasure to invite and welcome you to Tehran, Iran for the 19th Congress of the Iranian Heart Association, to be held on Feb. 25-28, 2014.

Iran, formerly known as Persia, is the cradle of civilization and culture. Tehran is the capital of Iran and the center of Tehran Province. The origin of the name Tehran is unknown, however the word “Tehran” means warm mountain slope. Tehran is at the foot of the Alborz mountain range and is the largest city in the Middle East and Western Asia.

Tehran today, replaces Ray, the ancient capital of Iran destroyed by the Mongols in 1220 A.D., the ruins of which can be seen 6 km south of Tehran. This vast city, with a population of over 15 million, ranks as one of the world’s largest capitals. Many historic sites can be admired in Tehran, the most famous of which are the palaces of Sadabad, Niavaran, Sahebqaranyyeh and Golestan, the mosque of Seyyed Azizollah, the great Bazar of Tehran and a multitude of museums, as well as the modern Milad Tower. Leisure and sport resorts around Tehran include Abali, Dizin, Gajereh and Shemshak ski stations, and the slopes of Darband and Shemiran.

This year’s congress is sure to provide an overview of the latest research and developments in the vast field of cardiovascular medicine, particularly in coronary artery disease, heart failure, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, echocardiography, congenital heart disease, imaging and cardiac surgery.

Many distinguished and outstanding colleagues have joined the faculty and will take part in the congress. Peer-reviewed presentations will take the form of plenary sessions, symposia, and poster sessions. State of the art presentations in panel sessions, meet the experts sessions, and open discussions will provide a forum for optimal benefit for the participants.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff of the organizing committee and scientific committee for their untiring effort in helping to make this major scientific event possible, and to the pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing industries for their kind and generous support.

We are certain that you will enjoy this congress and meeting with your colleagues from all across the world, and we hope that you have a truly memorable time in the beautiful and historic city of Tehran.
